Biography

Sheryl brings has extensive skills and experience in leadership, global operations, client service provision and change management. Sheryl has a demonstrated commitment and track record in the practical application of high-performance culture and a commitment to best practice governance that allows organisations, their people and communities to prosper.

Sheryl had more than 33 years’ experience in the financial services industry with Macquarie Bank as an Executive Director. Her role was Head of Service and Operations for the Banking and Financial Services group and was also the Head of the Macquarie Group Queensland Office.

Sheryl has served on the boards of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Schizophrenia Research Institute and Lifeline Australia. She’s a director of Orange Ink Limited and is an Executive Coach for Foresight’s Global Coaching. Sheryl was a longstanding member of the Macquarie Group Foundation Board for 11 years.

Sheryl is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and holds a Certificate in Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia (GIA). She completed the Executive Graduate Certificate in Business (Leadership through Coaching and Mentoring) through QUT and is currently undertaking an Executive Master of Business Administration.

Sheryl is married to Andrew and has 2 adult children. She’s passionate about wellbeing, mental health, loves cooking, spending time with family and friends, exercising, hiking, tending to her Australian stingless native bees and loving life.
